Pink Floyd are the British wizards of psychedelic rock, best known for their Dark Side of the Moon record. This performance covers a wide range of material dating back to 1967 and their Saucerful of Secrets album. Most of the musical action takes place at the site of the ruins of Pompeii; and at appropriate moments (such as during the song "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun") the visuals cut away to Pompeii's molten lava pools bubbling and seemingly breathing additional fire into the inspired music provided by this quartet. Interspersed with the footage of Pink Floyd performing are quieter, more intimate insights into this mysterious group, as we hear them talk about the music they play. Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason don't take to the road that often. LIVE AT POMPEII assures that you will have Pink Floyd on hand to watch, listen and excite you whether they're touring or not.
